By installing, accessing, or using Pleero (“the Service”), you (“Merchant,” “you,” or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. By installing Pleero, you represent that you have the authority to bind your business to these Terms.
Pleero is being built as return and refund abuse protection for Shopify: scoring returns, refunds, and “item not received” claims against a merchant's own order history, and recommending or taking an action, before money leaves the business.
Current state: Pleero is under active development. Scoring, remediation actions, and the Abuse Network are not yet live. Installing Pleero today connects your store and lets us build against real data during development; it does not yet take any automated action on your returns, refunds, or customers. We will update these Terms, and notify installed merchants, before any automated action goes live for the first time.
You are responsible for ensuring your use of Pleero — including any remediation action you later choose to enable, such as declining a return or restricting a refund to store credit — complies with consumer protection, refund, and data privacy laws in your jurisdiction and the jurisdictions where your customers are located. Pleero will never enable an automatic decline or a store-credit substitution by default; every automatic money-moving action requires your explicit opt-in, shown with an inline warning that you, not Pleero, are responsible for your published return policy supporting it.
You represent that you have obtained any consents from your customers necessary for Pleero to process their data on your behalf, once that processing begins.
Pleero does not currently charge a subscription fee. Pricing will be announced, and these Terms updated, before we begin charging any merchant. No merchant will be charged without advance notice and the opportunity to review the pricing that applies at that time.
By installing Pleero, you authorize us to access your Shopify store data as necessary to operate the Service, limited today to what our Privacy Policy describes. As we ship features that process customer data, we will act as your data processor / service provider for that data, solely on your instructions, and make a Data Processing Agreement available on request.
Pleero integrates with Shopify's APIs and is subject to Shopify's Terms of Service and API Terms. You must maintain an active Shopify store in good standing to use Pleero. Installing Pleero grants us only the Shopify API permissions necessary to operate — you can review the exact scopes requested on the installation consent screen before approving them, and they may change as we ship new features; we will never request more than a given feature needs.
When you uninstall Pleero, we stop accessing your store, and delete your merchant record per Shopify's mandatory shop/redact process (see our Privacy Policy).
The Service is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with future Shopify API changes, or any specific outcome from using the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pleero's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Since Pleero does not currently charge fees, that amount is presently $0; this limitation will be restated in real terms once paid plans exist. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
You remain solely responsible for your obligations to your customers under applicable law, and for any dispute between you and a customer regarding a return, refund, or store credit.
You may stop using Pleero at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or illegal activity, or if your Shopify account is terminated. Upon uninstall or termination, your merchant record is deleted per the retention terms in our Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms as Pleero's capabilities change. We will notify installed merchants of material changes and update the date above. Governing law and dispute- resolution terms will be added, with proper legal review, before Pleero charges any merchant or takes an automated action on live customer data — this is a deliberate gap, not an oversight, and we would rather leave it open than invent terms we have not had reviewed.
